Living cost contributions

Árvore is rethinking music funding: instead of supporting individual projects, we cover a portion of the artists' living costs for 4 years. This allows them to devote themselves intensively to their music.

We support freelance, full-time musicians. There is only one call for tenders every year. A call for applications is held annually. Outside the application window, Árvore does not accept requests.

In Switzerland we pay CHF 2100 per month, in Germany € 1200, which corresponds to about 60% of the minimum wage. As stated above, we do not support CD productions, tours, festivals or concert series.

Long-term, personal support is rare. We firmly believe in this and hope that this approach will be increasingly accepted - for example in state funding. The independent scene makes a significant contribution to a vibrant, diverse culture. With new forms of support, we can ensure that this remains the case.

The foundation was established in 2015 and has already successfully supported 120 artists. Fabian Gisler and Stefan Rusconi, both freelance musicians, are on the Board of Trustees.
